Mikhail Medvedev, associate professor of physics and astronomy, attended the “High-Energy Astrophysics Today and Tomorrow — 2010” conference in Moscow. While there, he gave the talk “Structure of an accretion flow and the boundary layer at low mass accretion rates.”

Marta Caminero-Santangelo, professor and chair of English, published the article “Central Americans in the City: Goldman, Tobar and the Question of Panethnicity” in the January issue of the journal Contemporary Literary Criticism.

Tien Lee, associate professor of journalism, co-authored the article “An Analysis of Factors Predicting Attitudes Toward Same-Sex Marriage: Do the Media Matter?” It has been accepted for publication by the Journal of Homosexuality. Gary Hicks of Sourthern Illinois University was Lee’s co-author.

Amy Devitt, professor of English, presented “Is There a Text in This Genre?” Feb. 20 at the Writing Research Across Borders conference at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
