Pediatrics department gets help to reimburse families

The Department of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine-Wichita has secured $10,000 from the Children’s Miracle Network Advisory Board — money that will be used to reimburse families paying for medical-related expenses not covered by insurance.

Natalie Sollo, assistant professor of pediatrics, submitted the application on behalf of the department, which will cover costs such as transportation to and from doctor appointments and medications not covered by insurance.

The money is available to children being cared for by KU Wichita Pediatric physicians.
