Diana Koslowsky

Diana Koslowsky
March University Support Staff Employee of the Month
Started at KU: 2001
Current title: Administrative associate senior, public administration
What that means: Koslowsky is responsible for class scheduling, coordinates graduate student admissions and enrollment, maintains graduate student records and oversees departmental purchasing, budgeting and accounting. She coordinates departmental activities on three campuses: Lawrence, Edwards and the Public Management Center in Topeka.
Notable: Koslowsky is the department’s key link with its students. From initial contacts through graduation and beyond she is there for them, answering questions about university policy, helping them with the enrollment process and recognizing their struggles and accomplishments.
Last year, Koslowsky took on an extremely difficult task. After more than 40 years in the same Blake Hall space, the department moved to new offices in Wescoe Hall. She was in charge of coordinating the move. She worked with the provost’s office in the design of the space, including selecting carpet and color schemes, and worked with Facilities Operations to coordinate the construction process. She professionally and diplomatically assisted faculty in preparing for the move, helping them take stock of the professional documents they had accumulated over the years, make decisions on what to keep according the university records retention schedule and fill bins with recycling.
Koslowsky serves on the University Support Staff Senate and chairs its Personnel Committee.
Quotable: “It is not easy to make the time needed to do this important work, but Diana has done so for over three years now,” said Dennis Constance, University Support Staff Senate president. “During that time, she has become one of our most effective senators. She brings energy, intellect, professionalism and good humor to everything I have seen her be a part of.”
Eunice Clifton

Eunice Clifton
March Unclassified Professional Staff Employee of the Month
Started at KU: 2008
Current title: Accounting manager, Design and Construction Management.
What that means: Clifton is responsible for the accounting of corporate, federal and state funds for capital projects, greater than $750,000. She processes paperwork and coordinates payments to service providers for construction and maintenance projects in campus buildings.
Notable: Clifton immersed herself in learning the job and initally worked outside of regular work hours to grasp all the aspects of it. Her co-workers say she “really stepped up to the plate” in quickly getting a handle on her job and the accounts, particularly as her starting employment coincided with the end of the accounting year, a notably busy and crucial time. Her work brings Clifton into contact with many people across campus and beyond, and she excels at this customer service aspect of her job. Other campus accountants enjoy working with her, and she is always a courteous, helpful “voice of KU” to those construction providers and vendors who may never step foot on campus.
