KU WORKS ON THE WEB: KU prides itself in serving its state. Some of the most notable service and outreach programs are highlighted at www.kuworks.ku.edu, the online home of the KU Works for Kansas report. The site contains stories and photos of a dozen projects and programs at KU that directly work to improve the state’s economy, agriculture, health and more. Included are profiles of researchers who are developing new cancer drugs, helping premature babies survive and thrive, protecting the prairie and aiding children with autism. Stories about students and a professor who built a new arts center in tornado-ravaged Greensburg and a program to help injured soldiers continue their education are also featured, along with vignettes of outstanding students who are making a difference in Kansas.
