The Essentials of Sports Reporting and Writing" by Scott Reinardy and Wayne Wanta

THE SPORT OF WRITING: Scott Reinardy, assistant professor of journalism, recently published “The Essentials of Sports Reporting and Writing.” The book, co-authored with University of Missouri professor Wayne Wanta, captures the authors’ experiences in sports journalism to give students real-world insight into the profession. Discussions on style, organization and ethics compliment instruction on story forms, such as columns, sports stories, profiles and news. Not only does the text provide writing lessons, it also gives students an insider’s knowledge of the sports reporter’s daily grind.
