ENABLE CLEAR TYPE TEXT ON WINDOWS XP: Windows XP users can enable ClearType, which will give all text on the computer a clearer, smoother appearance.

• Right click anywhere on the desktop.
• Select "properties" from the menu.
• In the dialogue box that appears, click on the "Appearance" tab at the top.
• Click on the "Effects..." button.
• In the pull down menu below "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts," select "ClearType" and make sure the check box is checked.
• Click "OK," then "Apply," then "OK."
