ATTENTION RESEARCHERS EndNote 9 now available. In January, KU began offering EndNote version 9 (for Windows and Mac) to faculty, graduate students and staff. The new version has updated import filters, connection files and output styles and offers improved importing from popular research databases, such as the OCLC databases (including ArticleFirst, WorldCat, Periodical Abstracts at KU) and others. EndNote libraries (collections of references) created in version 8 are fully compatible with version 9. No data conversion is required. Find the free download and more details at www.technology.ku.edu/software/endnote. You will need your KU Online ID and password. About 2,200 people at KU have downloaded EndNote since March 2005.

The U of Kansas connection file, which allows EndNote users to download references from the KU Catalog, has also been updated. Find the file and installation instructions at www.lib.ku.edu/technology/citing/endnote/kuconnection.shtml.

Need help importing references from library databases (like PubMed, the MLA International Bibliography or Web of Science) into EndNote or RefWorks? Importing instructions for most databases available at KU are available at www.lib.ku.edu/technology/citing/import.

Scheduled EndNote workshops, custom workshops and individual consultation are available. For more information, see the Instructional Services site at www.lib.ku.edu/instruction, call 864-0410 or e-mail training@ku.edu.
