The Center for Teaching Excellence, Department of American Studies, Graduate School and Hall Center for Humanities will co-sponsor presentations by Sherry Linkon, a Carnegie Scholar and professor at Youngstown State University on March 2 and 3.
Faculty, staff and GTAs are invited to participate in Linkon's interactive workshop from 4 to 5 p.m. March 2 in 4051 Wescoe. Linkon's presentation is titled "Teaching Critical Reading and Inquiry in Upper-Division Courses." Registration is requested and space is limited; contact CTE at 864-4199 or cte@ku.edu.
The Hall Center will co-host Linkon's general session from noon to 1 p.m. March 3. It will be held in the Hall Center in the W. Clarke Wescoe Conference Hall. Linkon will speak on the topic "Art, History and Community: How Public Art Constructs and Preserves Community Memory." Lunch will be provided. Registration is required. Faculty members may meet Linkon during a drop-in breakfast at the Center for Teaching Excellence in 135 Budig Hall from 8 to 9:30 a.m. March 3.
