KU tuition assistance participation sets record

The tuition assistance program has granted 159 awards to KU staff members this spring, surpassing the previous record of 157 awards made last spring. Awards were made to 55 people last summer, and the fall program included 155 participants.

The program is available to classified and unclassified staff with six months of full-time or part-time KU employment by the time classes begin. The program normally provides tuition for one class a semester and can cover up to a five-hour course.

Acceptance into the program is not automatic, and eligibility doesn’t guarantee admission into the university.

The tuition assistance application form is available on the Human Resources and Equal Opportunity Web page, www.ku.edu/~kuhr, by going to the tuition assistance link. For more information, contact Lynn George in Human Resources and Equal Opportunity at 864-7415 or lgeorge@ku.edu.

The application deadline for the 2005 summer semester is 5 p.m. Friday, April 8. Applications should be forwarded to the Tuition Assistance Committee, c/o Human Resources and Equal Opportunity, 103 Carruth-O’Leary Hall.
