A year of women III: Resource center unveils 3rd iteration of calendar

From left: Delia Kimbrel, Santos Nunez, Vedrana Balta and Alexandra Baldwin.

From left: Ann Cudd, Marge Heard Franklin, Florence Boldridge and Shannon Skoglund.

The 2005-06 “KU Women of Distinction” poster-calendar, highlighting the accomplishments of female faculty, staff, alumni and students, is now available at all KU Bookstores in Lawrence and on the Edwards Campus and at the Student Involvement and Leadership Center, Room 400 Kansas Union.

The calendars are free, but donations are accepted.

The poster-calender features faculty member Ann Cudd, professor of philosophy and director of the women's studies program; staff members Florence E. Boldridge, director of diversity programs at the School of Engineering, and Santos Nunez, director of the Multicultural Resource Center and also a doctoral student; KU graduate Marge Heard Franklin, co-founder and principal engineer of Franklin Associates Ltd. of Prairie Village; and 15 women pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees.

Biographies of the women as well as calendar grids for the 2005-06 academic year semesters are included in this third calendar issued by the Emily Taylor Women's Resource Center.

Katherine Rose-Mockry, director of the center, assembled a committee of women and men faculty, staff and students to evaluate nominations and make the selections. The calendar was inspired by a suggestion of Elizabeth Topp, professor of pharmaceutical chemistry.

The 2005-06 student participants:
