Med Center adds staff for outreach
External affairs office expands administration
David Adkins, vice chancellor for external affairs at the KU Medical
Center, has named two new people to his administrative staff.
Marcia Nielsen, a faculty member in health policy and management
and adviser to the executive dean on health policy issues, has been
named assistant vice chancellor for governmental affairs. In this
role, she
will develop and advance the official policy positions of KUMC at
the local, state and federal levels. She also will coordinate programs
to inform Med Center staff and the community about health care
and
health
professions education in the public policy arena.
David Cook, previously director of the telemedicine department and
director of the Health, Technology and Outreach Office, is now
assistant vice
chancellor for external affairs at the Med Center. He will serve
as the chief operations officer for the external affairs division,
including
budget and strategic planning.
