Picnic, lecture planned for Dole visit to institute
Former Sen. Bob Dole will return to the institute bearing his name on April 26 to deliver the 2005 Dole Lecture in an event that will recall a traditional Kansas campaign stop.
Dole’s lecture, “One Soldier’s Story,” will be
given at 4 p.m. inside the institute and will be followed by an outdoor
picnic and old-fashioned gathering. A book signing will follow the lecture.
The lecture also will be followed by an outdoor gathering featuring free
hot dogs and other picnic fare, live music and fun.
“
Our goal is to make it family friendly,” said Bill Lacy, institute
director. “We’ll have a tent and big-screen TV set up so
no one will miss the lecture.”
All events are free and open to the public, but tickets are required
