Classified staff look to future, appoint leaders
KU classified staff elected a new slate of leaders during their Senate
meeting April 13.
The executive board for fiscal year 2006 will be Kathy Jansen, procurement
officer in the comptroller’s office, president; Bev Nightingale,
accountant in the comptroller’s office, vice president; Linda Orr,
administrative specialist in the chancellor’s office, secretary;
Angel Gillaspie, administrative specialist in social welfare, treasurer;
Bette Luther, accountant in Russian and East European studies, equal
employment opportunity 3 representative; Mary Ann Baker, library assistant,
equal employment opportunity 4 representative; Jay Barnard, instrument
maker in civil, environmental and architectural engineering, equal employment
opportunity 5 representative; Tim Thomasson, physical plant supervisor
with Facilities Operations, equal employment opportunity 6 representative;
and Pauline Sanders, custodial specialist with Facilities Operations,
equal employment opportunity 7 representative.
Committee chairs are Dennis Constance, custodial supervisor with Facilities
Operations, legislative affairs committee; Sanders, communications committee;
Bev Koerner, administrative specialist in geography, personnel committee;
Doug Carter, physical plant supervisor in housing maintenance, elections
committee; and Michael Rusche, library assistant, information access
and public relations committee.
University Council representatives will be Jansen, Nightingale and Baker.
The organization represents approximately 1,600 classified employees
on the Lawrence campus.
