This Week In KU History Quiz

Q: What was the name of the structure that replaced KU’s original building, Old North Hall?

A: Originally known as the New Building, then University Hall and finally Fraser Hall, this structure, now remembered as Old Fraser, opened on Mount Oread in 1872. It represented the latest in late-19th-century construction techniques. Heated by steam and lit by gas, high-tech amenities for the time, this four-story building once housed the entire University. It was razed in 1965.
