Phone first-aid: Service will be interrupted briefly on the telephone systems at the Lawrence and Edwards campuses while voice-switch software upgrades are installed. Software upgrades will be on Sunday, Sept. 19, at the Edwards Campus and on Sunday, Sept. 26, in Lawrence.
Both upgrades will begin at 6 a.m. A campus-wide voice service outage will last up to 30 minutes between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. while the telephone system is rebooted after the new software is loaded.
During this outage, campus telephones will not have dial tones, and any telephone calls in progress at the time of the reboot will be disconnected. Any incoming calls during the system reboot will receive a fast busy signal.
J-TALK voice mail will not be available during the system reboot. All existing J-TALK voice mail messages and options will be retained in the system and accessible after the upgrade.
