Education enthusiast

As the office manager for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Carlena Haney’s job is multifaceted. But she boils it down in this succinct job description: “I play Mom to students and faculty – both are needy,” she teased. “I love what I do, and I’m dedicated to making this office as user-friendly as possible.” Haney and her husband, Bernard, are also dedicated to helping KU’s School of Education through their annual financial contributions. Both are School of Education alumni who want to help support their alma mater through private gifts. The Haneys’ tax-deductible donations for the school count toward KU First: Invest in Excellence.
