Derritt chosen as university registrar
Cindy Derritt, who has served as interim university registrar since fall
2003,
has been named university registrar. Derritt is the first female registrar
at KU.
“I look forward to continuing to serve the university community
in my new role,” Derritt said. “The Office of the University
Registrar at KU has long been respected nationally, and it is an exciting
opportunity to be a part of that tradition.
“With new systems now in place, such as the online enrollment system,
this is a wonderful time to explore ways our office can enhance the service
we provide to students, faculty and staff at the university.”
The registrar is responsible for all functions related to enrollment and
academic records at KU.
Derritt has been with KU almost continuously since 1988. In addition to
serving as interim university registrar, she was associate university
registrar for KU from 2001 to 2003. Derritt was registrar at Ottawa University
from 1997 to 2001. Before that, she served in other positions in the registrar’s
office and KU’s Office of Student Financial Aid.
Derritt replaces Richard C. Morrell, who became associate vice provost
for student success at KU.
