Faculty art to be featured in exhibit

An exhibition March 7 through 12 at the Art and Design Gallery will feature a diverse range of works by members of the art faculty.

Many professors in KU’s art department have shown in national and international exhibitions, and they are represented in galleries nationwide. This exhibition offers an exciting opportunity to see the talent they bring to KU and will include works in painting, sculpture, drawing, video installation and printmaking.

Pieces by Professor Emeritus Robert Sudlow, a noted painter who taught at KU from 1946 to 1988, will be shown in the exhibition, as well as work by Roger Shimomura, distinguished professor of performance and painting, who retires this spring.

The show will also include works by:

Jane Asbury, associate professor of printmaking
Phillip Blackhurst, associate professor of sculpture
Robert Brawley, professor of painting
Carol Ann Carter, professor of new genre
Mark Cowardin, instructor in art
Richard Dishinger, associate professor of painting
Ivan Fortushniak, associate professor of painting
John Hachmeister, associate professor of sculpture
Tanya Hartman, assistant professor of painting and drawing
Cima Katz, professor of drawing and printmaking
Michael Krueger, associate professor of printmaking
Gerald Lubensky, professor of painting
Judith McCrea, associate professor of painting and chair of art
Yoonmi Nam, assistant professor of art
Robert Price, associate professor of painting
Peter Thompson, professor of painting
