Anna Cienciala, professor emerita of history, has contributed
a chapter to a new book titled Ideology, Politics and Diplomacy in East
Central Europe. The book, which is the 14th volume in the Rochester Studies
in Central Europe series, was edited by Mieczyslaw B.B. Biskupski, the
chair of Polish-American studies at Central Connecticut State University.
The text was written by Biskupski, Cienciala and five other leading authorities
on events in East Central Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries. Cienciala’s
chapter is titled “The Nazi Soviet Pact of August 23, 1939: When
Did Stalin Decide to Align with Hitler, and Was Poland the Culprit?”
