The next time you’re agonizing over balancing your
checkbook, just imagine doing Diane Goddard’s job. As the assistant
vice provost/comptroller for KU, she balances KU’s books to the
penny. Although it sounds like a nightmare for the math-challenged, Diane
loves her job because it allows her to connect with every member of KU’s
student body, faculty and staff. Steve Goddard, curator of prints and
drawings at the Spencer Museum of Art and a professor in the Department
of History of Art, also enjoys that his position allows him to work with
both KU students and patrons. So it’s not surprising that when
the Goddards make financial contributions for KU, they give for a wide
variety of areas. “They are all areas we feel a real connection
to,” Steve said. “Often it has to do with a connection we
have with people in that area. We want to support what they’re
doing.” The Goddards’ gifts count toward the Family Campaign
of KU First: Invest in Excellence. Earl Richardson/KU Endowment Association
