Research Resources: The Academic Data Research Services Alliance assists faculty and students with identification, analysis and visualization of spatial and numeric data.


• The GIS & Numeric Data Lab helps scholars to identify and analyze spatial and numeric data. Jeff Bullington and Rhonda Houser, directors, are available 1-5 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, and 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Wednesdays. Call 864-1238 or e-mail data@ku.edu.


• The Statistical Computing Lab helps scholars visualize research data and analyze statistics. Mickey Waxman, director, is available 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m Saturdays. Call 864-7777 or e-mail statistics@ku.edu.


• The Policy Research Institute helps scholars extract, format and map census data. Xan Stevens, director, is available for meetings by appointment. Call 864-9111 or e-mail pri@ku.edu.


• ADRSA’s training workshops include GIS; ArcGIS; FirstGov.Gov- Gateway to U.S. Government Information on the Web; Using ICPSR; SAS and SPSS.


• Academic credit course, CLAS 792: Managing Research Data in the Social Sciences, for three credit hours and some workshops.
