Former dean pledges $500K for professorship

McCann Foundation gift will support rural health

A former dean of KU’s medical school and his wife have pledged $500,000 for a professorship in rural health to KU Medical Center.

Robert “Bob” Daugherty Jr. and Joy McCann Daugherty announced the gift from the Joy McCann Foundation during the school’s annual White Coat Ceremony Aug. 6.

The gift will endow the McCann Professorship in Rural Health.
