Building Community

Brickwork. Concrete. Tiles and mortar. Mike Auchard, a stone mason for student housing maintenance since 1984, invests his time and creativity as a KU employee building sound structures—and he invests his dollars for the University Family Campaign in sound programs such as Friends of the Theater.” Anything that helps KU—I’m all for it,” Auchard says. “Right now, giving can be difficult because of the economic situation. But even small gifts are a way for employees to feel like they’re an important part of the KU community.” Photo courtesy of KU Endowment Association
