Jeremy Alyn Matchett


Jeremy “Jere” Alyn Matchett, 69, Lawrence, died Oct. 11. He had been on the pharmacy faculty since 1972 and was associate dean for 16 years. Survivors include his wife, Gayle; two sons, Randy, Lewistown, Mont., and Chris, Lawrence; a daughter, Kera, Overland Park; a brother, David, Topeka; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Jere Matchett Memorial Fund, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.


Bertha Pauline Schnoebelen


Bertha Pauline Schnoebelen, 92, Oskaloosa, died Oct. 5. She retired as a custodian at KU in 1971. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Fowler, Winchester; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the library or the church, sent in care of Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
