Pinamonti selected as admissions director

KU has named Pittsburg native Lisa Pinamonti as the permanent director of the Office of Admissions and Scholarships.

Pinamonti, associate director of the office since 2000, has served as interim director since April 2002.

“Lisa brings great enthusiasm and an absolute devotion to the university to her work,” said Kathleen McCluskey-Fawcett, senior vice provost for academic affairs. “She is an incredible ambassador for KU.”

As admissions director, Pinamonti will oversee student recruitment activities, new student scholarships, application processing and transfer credit evaluation. The office has a $2 million budget and 32 staff members.

Pinamonti joined the KU admissions office in 1999 as assistant director of on-campus programming and was promoted to associate director a year later.

“I hope to reach out and recruit more Kansas students,” Pinamonti said. “At the same time, it is important to target students of color, out-of-state students, high-ability students, transfer students and children of alumni. I look forward to working with KU faculty and staff and the Lawrence community.”

Pinamonti succeeds Alan Cerveny, who resigned to become dean of admissions at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
