Rob matches money, mouth

By Jen Humphrey

Rob Klotz, announcer/producer, hosts National Public Radio's “All Things Considered,” jazz and classical music programs, in Studio 2 at Kansas Public Radio, where he's worked since 1987.

Klotz uses the university's payroll deduction option to provide financial support for the station. His gifts to KU Endowment support national and local programming, including shows such as “Morning Edition” and “A Prairie Home Companion.”

“I like to back up my on-air fund-raising pitches with my own contribution,” he said. “I firmly believe in what we do, which is to inform and entertain our audience in a way no other station tries to do.”

Klotz’s gifts count toward the $500 million goal of KU First: Invest in Excellence, the largest fund-raising campaign in KU history. KU Endowment is conducting KU First on behalf of KU through 2004 to raise funds for scholarships, fellowships, professorships, capital projects and program support.
