The KU Center for Research is a catalyst for research on the Lawrence campus.
It submits, and negotiates on KU’s behalf, all proposals for external support of research, instructional and service projects on the Lawrence campus. KUCR helps research investigators prepare proposals and negotiate contracts, crafts institutional policy, informs the campus about national policy, conducts training programs and provides information on funding sources. KUCR also facilitates technology transfer and communicates information about research to the public.
KUCR is here to serve the KU research community — a community vital to the university’s mission and goals. The foundation’s services include funding opportunities, human resources information, research compliance information and proposal services.
KU research set a new record in FY2001, with expenditure for research, development and training exceeding $224 million. This remarkable $31 million increase represents a 16% increase from last year.
Over the last five years, KU research spending has risen by more than $100 million – an increase of more than 80% since 1996.
