Spring enrollment at KU rose slightly this spring with 26,894 students on all campuses, according to figures released by the Kansas Board of Regents.
KU's spring enrollment has risen consistently for the past six years. This semester, the university enrolled 1,139, or 4.4 percent, more students than it did in 1997.

At the Lawrence campus, 24,719 students enrolled this spring, compared with 24,502 in 2001 and 24,209 in 2000. Lawrence campus totals include enrollment at the KU Edwards Campus in Overland Park as well as at the Public Manage-ment Center (formerly the Capitol Complex) in Topeka. At the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., 2,175 students enrolled this spring, compared with 2,355 students in spring 2001 and 2,336 in spring 2000.
Spring 2002 enrollment at all Kansas Board of Regents universities increased by 2,161 students to 79,562, a 2.8 percent increase over the spring semester 2001.
KU remains the largest university in the regents system. About 34 percent of the students enrolled at a regents university are at KU.
