The Council for Advancement and Support of Education District VI Conference took place Jan. 13-15 in St. Louis. and several KU Endowment, University Relations and Self Graduate Fellowship employees received awards. CASE is the professional organization for advancement of professionals at all levels who work in alumni relations, communications and development. CASE combines areas into districts, so Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming are all in District VI.
KU Endowment received several awards for Excellence in Fundraising Materials as well as one for Institutional Relations and Writing. The following received Gold Awards:

The Self Graduate Fellowship won a Gold Award for Excellence in Communications-Overall Publications for its brochure Quite a Fellowship, created by Patrick Dooley, Roger Martin, Danette Michaels and Cathy Dwigans.
The university also was recognized for achievement in this years Admission Marketing Report contest. University Relations received three awards:
The Planet Jayhawk logo won a gold in the logo/letterhead design category. Graphic designers Jan Morris Nitcher and Jeane Counard put together the winning logo.
Welcome to the University of Kansas won a bronze for video viewbooks. The film was put together by electronic media coordinator Frank Barthell. The print version, which Counard, Deb Graber and staff photographers created, received a merit award in the viewbook category.
