The Hall Center for the Humanities has launched a new Web site with an improved navigation system and a comprehensive overview of Hall Center activities.

“We encourage all those interested in the Hall Center for the Humanities and its large number of interdisciplinary events and activities to browse the new Web site,” said Victor Bailey, director of the Hall Center.

The site, www.hallcenter.ku.edu, includes a calendar of events, help with grant and competition applications, and information about the center and the humanities faculty. Users can link from the Web site to many national foundations, endowments and other humanities centers. The site also contains a search engine for easy access and navigation.

Bailey said the new site is easier to navigate and gives users a comprehensive overview of Hall Center activities.

“In addition to telling them what’s going on this moment or in the coming weeks, we wanted to have an archive as well,” Bailey said. “It gives a stronger sense of achievement of the center over the last decade or more.”

The new site has been in development for about a year, Bailey said. Lawrence-based North Company designed the site, which will be updated weekly.

“I think we still need to keep working on it and improving it,” Bailey said. “You have to stay on top of a Web site and make it current.”
