The KU Endowment Association has streamlined its Web site with a new design and has made the process of donating as easy as clicking a mouse. The new site was launched in mid-January and includes an online giving feature, allowing visitors to make donations directly on the site.
Diane Silver, senior editor, worked with a Kansas City Web development company called lookandfeel new media to create the new site. The site has maintained some of its organization, such as entry points designed for certain audiences, but has added several new features.
Additions include a splash page, answers to frequently asked
questions, job postings, online loan applications for students, a handbook for KU faculty who access Endowment funds and a matching gift database for donors.
John Scarffe, director of communications, said one of the
primary objectives of the redesign was to make the site more
interactive.
“We also wanted to increase the impression that the material on the site was meant directly for the Web page, rather than print material that was transferred online,” Scarffe said.
The site will be updated weekly. Silver said she anticipated frequent changes to the site in order to stay current and address audience needs.
“We want to make certain we give the best possible service to donors, alumni, faculty and students,” she said.
