Linkugel receives teaching award
Wil Linkugel, professor of communication studies,
has received the first College of Liberal Arts Career Achievement
Teaching.
"This award not only is a tribute to your distinguished
service as a valued faculty member, but to the profound impact
you have made in the lives of your students," Dean Sally
Frost Mason said.
Mason presented Linkugel with the award and $1,000. Linkugel
also addressed the college's master's hooding ceremony in May.
Last chance to check phonebook listing
Campus offices that have sent updates to the Office
of University Relations for the administrative pages of the university
telephone directory and did not send a representative during
the proofreading period this past week have a last chance to
check their entries for the 2000-2001 edition.
Offices may send representatives to the University Relations
Center to proofread their sections of the administrative pages
of the directory from this Monday, July 17, to Wednesday, July
19. An appointment isn't necessary.

State Fair volunteers needed to represent KU
The Office of University Relations is looking for
volunteers to help with KU's efforts Sept. 8 to 17 at the Kansas
State Fair in Hutchinson. Volunteers will greet passersby, answer
questions about the university and hand out information.
University Relations will reimburse volunteers for their lodging,
admission and parking.University retirees are encouraged to volunteer.
The state fair is one of the largest single events in Kansas
with almost 500,000 people attending annually.
