- Ann Eversole, associate dean of students, will be interim
dean of students, KU officials announced in June.
Eversole replaces James Kitchen, who left KU June 30 to become
vice president of student affairs at San Diego State University.
"We are lucky to have someone with Ann's experience step
in for us at this time," said David Ambler, vice chancellor
for student affairs.
The dean of students heads the Department of Student Life within
the Division of Student Affairs. The department includes the
Student Organizations and Leadership Development Center, Recreation
Services, Legal Services, University Career and Employment Services,
Counse-ling and Psychological Services, International Student
Services, Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Student Development
Center.
Eversole came to KU in 1973. She holds bachelor's and master's
degrees from Emporia State University and a doctorate in educational
policy and administration from KU.
