Four KUMC faculty earn Kemper fellowships

Wanda Bonnel, associate professor of nursing, right, was among the KU Medical Center Kemper fellowship recipients. KU Medical Center faculty members Wanda Bonnel, Won Choi, April McVey and John Wood recently received William T. Kemper Fellowships for Teaching Excellence. The honor recognizes KU professors who demonstrate outstanding teaching skills inside and outside of the classroom.
Bonnel is an associate professor of geriatric nursing and nursing education, where she has pioneered projects in e-mentoring and online coursework.
Choi is an associate professor of preventive medicine and public health, where his subject matter includes behavioral epidemiology and epidemiologic methods.
McVey is an associate professor of neurology and director for the neurology residency program at the medical center. Wood is an associate professor of molecular and integrative physiology and member of the Department of Surgery.
