THE NEW NEWS: Technology has certainly made news from around the globe more accessible, but has it made foreign coverage better? David Perlmutter, associate dean and professor of journalism, co-edited the book "From Pigeons to News Portals: Foreign Reporting and the Challenge of New Technology" with John M. Hamilton of Louisiana State University. In the book, scholars and journalists explore how foreign correspondence has evolved with ever-changing technology; if "foreign" coverage still exists; and the implications of the changing delivery of such news.
