KU MEDICAL CENTER:

The Nursing Residency Program at the School of Nursing recently admitted its sixth class. The program is designed to help nurses meet the challenges of their field and improve retention in the profession. When KU joined the program five years ago, it was one of only 12 universities in the program. Today there are 28 in the program, which is only open to academic medical centers with an affiliated school of nursing.

TOPONYMS:

When Stouffer Place's 25 buildings opened in 1957, they were the first residential units built near Daisy Hill. The apartments, for married students and students with families, have one, two or three bedrooms. The complex is named for Ellis B. Stouffer, dean of the Graduate School from 1922-45 and dean of the university for six more years. Its streets are named for him and his wife, Anna. For more, visit www.buildings.ku.edu.
