TOPONYMS
Carruth-O'Leary Hall, which opened in 1955 as a men's residence hall, was named for two longtime faculty members and KU alumni: William H. Carruth, professor of German and an administrator; and English professor Raphael Dorman O'Leary. Since 1986 it has been home to the Department of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity and other administrative departments. Douthart Scholarship Hall previously stood on its site. For more, visit
