KU's new Points of Distinction Web page is available at
www.distinction. ku.edu. The university's top points of distinction are listed, and additional points are listed by category, school and department. Individual units also have statements of purpose, such as this example from the School of Social Welfare: "Ébecause people deserve lives with dignity." The school and department sections also include links to the representative sites for each.
KU HISTORY
KU is in the heart of the legislative session, lobbying for lawmakers' support of university needs. The process is a time-honored tradition. In 1909, Chancellor Frank Strong organized a 100th birthday banquet for Abraham Lincoln that brought legislators to campus as the culmination of a major campaign for increased state funding.
