Lucinda Koester

Current title: Administrative associate senior, KU Bands

What that means: What that means: Koester is responsible for all administrative aspects for three concert bands, several jazz ensembles and several athletic bands, including the Marching Jayhawks, mens basketball, womens basketball, and volleyball.

Notable: In addition to making travel and catering arrangements, Koester is also the de facto chief financial officer for the bands, managing funds from multiple sources.



Blake "Brownie" Wilson

Blake "Brownie" Wilson, Unclassified employee

Current title: Information resource manager, Kansas Geological Survey.

What that means: Wilson has primary responsibility for water-related information and for supervision of the technical support staff in the Geohydrology Section.

Notable: Wilson regularly makes presentations to groups around the state, from highly technical users, geohydrologists, and legislative committees to average citizens, using methods catered to each audience.

TOPONYMS:

Moore Hall, at 19th Street just west of Iowa, is headquarters for the Kansas Geological Survey. It is named for Raymond C. Moore, state geologist, KGS director and a distinguished professor of invertebrate paleontology at KU for more than 45 years. He joined KGS and KU in 1916 and was with the university until 1962.
