Russell Scheffer, chair and professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, has been appointed to the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry editorial board. The journal is highly rated among pediatric journals dedicated to improving the quality of life for children.
EDWARDS CAMPUS
International piano star Chu-Fang Huang will perform at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at Regnier Hall. Huang won first prize at the 2005 Cleveland International Piano Competition. The performance is open to the public.
KU MEDICAL CENTER
The Diabetes Institute at the KU Medical Center houses research and clinical care in one location, making it the only such institute of its kind in the United States. The institute will also create a network of physicians, linking primary care doctors and endocrinology specialists.
KU IQ
For the 30th consecutive year, KU had a strong presence at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. Reno County, where Hutchinson is located, also has a strong presence at KU. In fall 2006, 269 students from the county were enrolled across all KU campuses. For a list of KU’s volunteers, see page 7.
