SUSTAINABILITY SPOTLIGHT

Welcome to a new feature designed to highlight efforts to make KU more environmentally, economically and socially responsible. The Sustainability Spotlight will feature individuals, departments and organizations on campus that promote the values of sustainability through education, research, service and innovation. With higher education playing a leading role in advancing sustainability throughout the globe, it is important to recognize the contributions of faculty, staff and students.

The chance to learn about sustainability at KU is right around the corner. On Oct. 24, the Center for Sustainability will host Campus Sustainability Day, a nationwide event. The center will recognize efforts to address issues of sustainability through operations, research and student projects. The program will feature the Sustainability Leadership Awards ceremony at 2 p.m, with awards presented by Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Richard Lariviere.

For more information or to recommend individuals or departments to highlight in future installments of the Sustainability Spotlight, contact the Center for Sustainability at sustainability@ku.edu or visit www.sustainability.ku.edu.
