Robert O. Lewis

Robert O. Lewis, 84, died April 22. He retired from KU's Office of University Relations in 1998 after nine years as a video producer. He is survived by his wife, 10 children, 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Unity Church, 900 Madeline Lane, Lawrence 66049, or Eudora nursing Center, 1415 Maple, Eudora 66025.

Robert L. Walters

Robert L. "Bob" Walters, 69, died March 29. He worked for KU for more than 34 years. He was manager of research facilities for the KU Center for Research before he retired. Survivors include his wife and three sons. The family suggests memorials to Health Care Access or the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

Robert M. Brooks

Robert M. Brooks, 77, died April 28. He worked as an electrician at KU for five years. Survivors include his wife, a daughter, and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions to American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post 14, sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

Maurena Kaye Miller

Maurena Kaye Miller, 63, died May 1. Miller was a production designer for KU English Alternative Theatre from 1989 to 2007. Survivors include a daughter, a son, and two sisters. The family suggests memorials to the Maurena Kaye Miller Trust, for future care of her daughter, sent in care of Robert Burdge, trustee, 31449 W. 268th Terrace, Paola 66071.

The Adams Alumni Center is named for K.S. “Boots” Adams, who went to work for Phillips Petroleum to earn money to complete his KU business degree and retired as chief executive officer. When the building opened, executive director Dick Wintermote requested that the address be changed from 1246 Oread Ave. to 1266 Oread in honor of Phillips 66 executives who were alumni and donors to the project.
