WHERE'S WOLOF? KU is one of only six American universities to teach
Wolof. The dominant language of the west African nation Senegal, Wolof is spoken as a native language by about 4 million people and by at least 8 million people total. KU's main campus is in Lawrence, but the university is well-represented throughout the state by unclassified staff. Of the 1,966 unclassified staff members who work for KU, 96 percent are Kansas residents who live in 26 Kansas counties.
