Five studies from the KU Hospital heart team's researchers were presented at the American College of Cardiology's annual conference in New Orleans, March 24-27.

"To have five abstracts accepted for a major cardiovascular meeting is outstanding," said Jim Vacek, director of cardiovascular research at KU Hospital.

EDWARDS CAMPUS

"Confucius Today: Chinese Wisdom for the 21st Century" is set for 7:30 p.m. today in the Regnier Hall auditorium. Livia Kohn, professor of religion and East Asian studies at Boston University, will present the lecture.

KU SCHOOL OF MEDICINE-WICHITA

Linda Frazier, professor of obstetrics and gynecology, recently received the Faculty Investigator Research Award. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated significant research accomplishments.

Debra Doubek, clinical assistant professor of family and community medicine, received the Doug Parks Family Medicine Volunteer Preceptor Teaching Award. The award identifies a volunteer faculty member in family and community medicine who rises to a higher level of service in the education of future physicians.
