The hiring of the three assistant professors of sociology was made possible by the tuition enhancement program. The professors will help meet the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences goal of increasing expertise in human diversity.

KU HISTORY

Chancellor Robert Hemenway's predecessor, Gene Budig, was chancellor at KU for 13 years. He left KU in 1994 to become president of Major League Baseball's American League. Budig Hall was named in his honor after he secured an $18 million appropriation to rebuild Hoch Auditoria after it burned in 1992. Learn more at www.kuhistory.com.
