Kristine Williams, assistant professor at the KU School of Nursing, received the Interdisciplinary Women's Health Research Scholar grant. The Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health (BIRCWH) K-12 program provided the grant.

More than 40 KU School of Medicine-Wichita students and staff involved in Young Professionals of Wichita recently celebrated one year of accomplishments. The organization offers ways for young professionals to socialize and expand their professional horizons. Wichita mayor Carlos Mayans spoke at an executive breakfast, marking the occasion.

The KU Fun Fest and Jazz Concert took place Aug. 25 drawing more than 650 guests to both events. The event included a free picnic, children's activity area, discounts at the KU Bookstore and performances by the KU Cheerleaders and local jazz bands.
TOPONYMS
Memorial Stadium, dedicated Nov. 11, 1922, was built with funds raised in memory of the 130 students, alumni and faculty members killed in World War I. The arc at the north end of the stadium covers the site of the original McCook Field, which opened in 1892. For more, visit the
