IT'S GETTING HOT IN HERE: A recent article in the New Yorker about rising global temperatures and melting ice caps referenced work by KU's Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets. Reporting on findings that Antarctica is losing ice at an alarming rate, the article stated, "The news from Antarctica follows a string of similarly grim discoveriesÉin February, a team of scientists from NASA and the University of Kansas announced that the flow if ice from glaciers in Greenland had more than doubled over the past decade."
