Employees win Phoenix Awards for work with arts

Karen Lane Christilles

Four current and former faculty and staff members were recognized for their work in the arts by the Lawrence Arts Commission.

The awards recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to the arts in the Lawrence community. The winners were nominated by their peers.

  • Karen Lane Christilles, associate director of the Lied Center, won the award for performing arts.
  • Pat Kehde and Mary Lou Wright, both former staff members, were honored in the literary arts category.
  • Mary Anne Jordan, associate professor of design, won for visual arts.
  • Bob and Trish McWilliams won for exceptional artistic achievement. Bob McWilliams is an announcer at Kansas Public Radio, based at KU.
